Each spring BIAKS-GKC sponsors a day on the hill in Topeka to educate state legislators about brain injury and potential legislative initiatives that will help improve the lives of those affected by this injury.

2026 ANNUAL BRAIN INJURY PROFESSIONAL CONFERENCE
April 16-17, 2026 – Topeka, KS – Maner Conference Center
The Brain Injury Association of Kansas and Greater Kansas City invites you to join us for the 2026 Annual Conference.
A gathering of professionals, survivors, caregivers and advocates from across the state dedicated to advancing brain injury awareness, research and rehabilitation.
This two-day conference will feature keynote presentations, educational sessions, and opportunities for collaboration among leaders and professionals in the field of brain injury.
GOING THE DISTANCE FOR BRAIN INJURY MEMORIAL DAY RUN
Monday May 25th, 2026 at 8:15 am
Presented by The Brain Injury Association of Kansas and Greater Kansas City (BIAKS-GKC), the Memorial Day run is celebrating its 39th year. This event, honoring survivors of traumatic brain injuries, features a scenic course in Loose Park and raises funds for crucial programs and resources.
Featuring 10K, 5K, 1.5-mile walk, Fun4Kids events, and virtual options.

Now that you survived, how do you thrive?
Whether a brain injury is recent or happened years ago, these gathering events offer an opportunity to engage with others facing similar challenges, whether they are family members/caregivers or individuals affected by a brain injury.
