Keisha’s Story

I had a car accident on 7-2-2010 and the airbag was the main cause of my TBI. I lost long term and short term memory and can’t remember my kids birth. My life has totally changed and will never be the same.

My mask has Vincent Van Gogh’s Starry Night as my background. I feel the painting shows how I see the world. The spirals represent that I have a lot of trouble with my balance and often fall for no reason. There are X’s on the speaker’s ears for my hearing loss. I feel confused all the time and it’s hard to live in this world because of it.

I have a very hard time remembering things and I often feel like Dory from “Finding Nemo”. I have trouble communicating with other people and often don’t like to leave my house because it’s scary.
